The Sangha concept was born out of a desire to cultivate committed hospitality. Committed to protecting the environment and committed to creating a balanced ecosystem focused on the well-being of our customers.
Our commitments
Selecting an eco-neighbourhood
The Cartoucherie district has been awarded the eco-district label thanks to the way it has taken account of social and environmental issues in its design:
- Responsible construction
- Participatory housing and shops
- Community network
- Green urban planning
- Green energy (cold and hot water networks supplied by the Mirail incinerator)
- Predominance of public transport (tram and bus) and exclusion of cars (silo car parks at the district’s entry points)
An eco-designed building
Architect Patrick Arotcharen has designed a building that respects the history of the district, its industrial past and ecological constraints: concrete architecture, no PVC, controlled air conditioning, etc.
The materials used and the furniture for the interior fittings were manufactured mainly in France and Portugal. These responsible purchases were made by Dynamo, a B-Corp-certified company.
Conserving the planet's resources
The hotel has hot water and air conditioning that cools the ambient air by 9°C using energy supplied by the Mirail waste incinerator.
To run the hotel, the teams have selected products that limit the carbon impact and plastic consumption:
- Low-energy light bulbs
- Non-disposable crockery
- Products bought and sold in bulk (herbal tea room, breakfast)
- Waste bins for selective sorting
- Showers with controlled flow
PRESERVING THE ENVIRONMENT
PRESERVING THE ENVIRONMENT
Working with local players and/or those committed to preserving the environment
The Sangha project was born out of a meeting between the founder and the partners of Les Halles de la Cartoucherie, a project committed to revitalising the area, preserving the environment and creating a neighbourhood life that promotes a new social balance.
This first collaboration has enabled Sangha to set up partnerships for the benefit of its customers and employees, including discounts on sports facilities, shared management of the area’s meeting rooms. The teams have also focused on local products and artisanal production for the products on offer: Aviateur Toulouse beers, Charcuterie occitane, Miel tarnais etc.
Finally, Sangha has chosen partners who are aware of their environmental impact and are working to limit its effects:
- Terre de Mars, products that are good for the body and the planet: TDM cosmetics are certified by ECOCERT Greenlife according to the COSMOS standard.
- Acapella coffees and teas, a commitment to respecting producers and the environment. The Acapella coffee-roasting shop offers a wide range of organic products. Its founder, Jean Marc Sanchez, an agronomist with a passion for coffee, has set his sights on successfully growing tea in France.
Working alongside our customers
Involving you in these various conservation commitments means being vigilant alongside you on water and energy consumption, the use of air conditioning, the reuse of towels, breakfast reservations, etc. We will support you on these subjects through posters, conferences, workshops, etc. in a spirit of sharing and responsibility.
And to give concrete expression to this commitment, we have become members of the Coq Vert community (a community of managers committed to the ecological transition under the aegis of the BPI) and will apply for the BREEAM very good label, a label assessing the environmental performance of buildings.
Recruiting multicultural employees to guarantee you a tailor-made multilingual welcome
When recruiting, we give preference to eclectic backgrounds over more formatted curricula and ensure that gender equality is respected. We believe that personality, motivation and desire create the richness in human relationships.
Sangha’s founder has been very personally involved in diversity issues, particularly through her role as vice-president of the HEC au Féminin association.
Providing our employees with a working environment in which they can flourish
Our employees have been recruited to be true partners in the project and its success:
- Participation in the company’s capital
- Integration before the opening to enable them to contribute their ideas
- Workshops to raise awareness of sustainable development
- Consideration of their personal constraints
- Health cover, targeted provident schemes and other social benefits
A BALANCED ECOSYSTEM
A BALANCED ECOSYSTEM
Choosing partners with strong social commitments
- Integration and inclusion: Sangha’s uniforms were made by La Fabrique Nomade, an association that works to promote the professional integration of migrant and refugee craftspeople in France.
- Promoting Burmese women: the hotel cushions were entrusted to Burmese weavers through the Opportunity for Women association. This association supports women so that they can make a living from their traditional craft activities in complete autonomy, as part of a virtuous economic model that respects the environment and cultures.
Working daily for individual well-being
The Sangha teams have come up with new services to ensure your stay is as relaxing as possible:
- Digital art
- The meditation channel
- Morning yoga classes
The hotel will also be offering guests the chance to recharge their batteries through L’Autre Lieu (Yoga, Pilates, individual consultations in alternative medicine) and workshops organised by local players (climate frescoes, saké initiation, etc.).
The Sangha concept is built around 6 values shared by our ecosystem and our customers: commitment, serenity, authenticity, inclusion, caring and sharing. The aim is to create a community of customers, employees and partners who share the same convictions, enabling everyone to learn from each other.
